Privacy policy

1. The short version

• This website uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
• There are no ads, no social media buttons and no tracking across other websites.
• We count visits with a privacy-friendly analytics service that doesn’t identify you.
• Our fonts and images come from our own server, not from third parties.
• Each of our games has its own privacy policy, linked on the game’s page.

3. Hosting

The website is hosted by Cloudflare Workers (Cloudflare, Inc.). To deliver the pages and protect them from attacks, the host processes technical data each time you visit: your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, the referring page, and your browser and operating system. This data is kept in server logs for a short time only.

• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Transfers: Cloudflare may process data in the USA. Cloudflare, Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and also uses the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

4. Visitor statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics (Cloudflare, Inc.) to learn how many people visit, which pages they read, and roughly where they come from. This helps us understand what interests our visitors.

• It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, and doesn’t use fingerprinting to recognise you.
• It records the page you visit, the referring website, your browser and device type, your country (derived from the IP address, which isn’t stored for analytics) and how fast the page loaded.
• We only see totals, never individual visitors.
• Legal basis: our legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

5. The corn on our map

The little corn game on our home page runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored or sent anywhere, and your corn is gone when you leave the page.

6. Emailing us

If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you. We delete the conversation when it’s no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

7. Your rights

You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16) or deleted (Art. 17), to restrict its processing (Art. 18), to data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Art. 77).
